Departure

Farewell and metaphorical dismemberment of the will to depart.

Neither freedom nor love ever brought your suffering, yet you chose exile.

It doesn’t matter, for me the moment to return to my origin has come, to reclaim the path that has been waiting for me and not to look back.

My feet drag, for they won’t leave without you. Doesn’t matter, if I must leave them, so be it, for if I can’t walk beside you, I’ll crawl until I reach you.

My eyes refuse to look at a life without you, doesn’t matter, I’ll leave them closed so they can dream eternally of your delicate face.

My hands hang useless by my sides, for they lack the warmth of your touch, doesn’t matter, it will be a burden I must carry.

My heart has stopped beating in a single sigh of longing, doesn’t matter, wherever I go, those feelings will be an obstacle to reason.
