Sadness, loneliness, grief, crying, madness…

A man who loses his dreams has lost everything, a man who lives without dreams is not alive. Submerged in the abyss that drags one into madness, the shadows wrapped around my heart and my mind, too confused to respond, letting myself be dragged along, surrendering my reason for a bit of peace.

A memory called to me, a fleeting moment, a few simple words that whispered “when you need me…” and just then was the moment to ask for help. Between desperation, between madness, I spoke your name and your presence came to me. Beautiful appearance that infused hope into my tormented eyes.

With patience you listened to my crying and kept silent, respecting the pain. You took my hand and led me to where I could contemplate the world that extended beyond the dark cave where my sorrow had imprisoned me.

You joyfully ran through the golden fields, calling me from afar, inviting me to follow you. With clumsy steps I ventured, looking at this new world, a world endowed with reality that did not exist in the dream from which I was torn without having desired it.

You held my hand in every fall my clumsy feet caused and you always smiled, despite the lacerating pain not being foreign to your own feelings.

“Why walk?” I asked at some point, and you did not answer, you just looked at me smiling. It was then that you gave me the greatest gift that anyone had ever given me: you gave me a reason to exist, a reason that had nothing to do with love, with glory or with destiny, a reason that simply dictated to live because one desires to live.

And so, graceful creature, you brought a smile back to my face, with ethereal caresses you healed my heart and gave me strength to continue, straight ahead and forward. Where?… I don’t know, that doesn’t matter, I just want to keep walking where my feet take me.

Thank you, dear creature, thank you, beautiful lady, thank you, gentle fairy who, at times, still shines for me with your delicate walk.
